With their work at and on the race track, track safety marshals contribute significantly to implement track safety as they ensure fast and effective communication between race control and the race drivers.
In the event of an accident, these marshals are usually the first on the scene to assist the driver or vehicle involved in the accident. Therefore, they assume a great deal of responsibility during their missions. They always work as a team which means that there are always at least two marshals working together at one post.
How to become a track safety marshal?
Anyone who is interested in motor sport, has reached the age of 18 and has a physical and mental basic fitness can be appointed as a voluntary track safety marshal at motor sport events. One of the requirements for obtaining a licence as a track safety marshal is the participation in a training course conducted in accordance with the DMSB guidelines.
