Since, due to the constructional characteristics, the extrication of injured drivers from race cars is usually very different from that of series-production vehicle, specially trained extrication teams are used in motor sport.
An extrication team consists of experienced paramedics, emergency paramedics and a doctor for whom this training module provides a special training in the area of stabilising possible spinal column injuries.
In the practical training, various situations with formula vehicles and different closed vehicles are simulated. Special attention is for example drawn to the hazards associated with electric vehicles and the appropriate safety measures.
